Lawmakers Introduce Historic LGBT Non-Discrimination Bill

This is a MASSIVE deal:
“The Equality Act will cover the areas of employment, education, housing, public accommodations, jury service, federal funding and credit.” (taken from the article). People will no longer be able to discriminate against LGBT, meaning that bosses can be prosecuted for firing someone for being gay/bi. (Yes that’s actually happened)

This is a huge step in the way of equality for LGBT people! #gayrights

Yesss! I work in the housing industry and I’ve always thought it was bullshit that gender identity/sexuality are not protected from discrimination
