My grandfather was legit diagnosed with ADHD at the age of about 80 and he was like “OH”

Basically, yeah. That’s kind of the point – you always have to look back on yourself and be mortified and resolve to be better.

Shit, the stuff I said just five YEARS ago (and I’m almost 33) makes me cringe like a motherfucker.

Burn in mortification. Rise from the ashes and be better. Lather, rinse, repeat for the rest of your life.

This is why purity culture doesn’t work!!! We’re all shit! We can all grow and do better!

I saw this tweet and really needed to share it.

No offense to Oprah, but people work their entire lives to build a resume and set of skills in public service. Billionaire celebrities, no matter how much I like them, shouldn’t get to leap over all that effort and experience. It’s a hard job, the hardest job in the world if you’re doing it right, it requires experience.

Let’s please stamp out the idea of no-experience celebrity politicians before it attempts an ugly trend. It says so much about our media-fucked politically-out-of-touch population.
