Being In Ravenclaw Would Be
• excelling in any and every class your care about
• using a permanent sticking spell to glue poems and sheet music and drawings to the common room walls
• feeling the wind in your hair when you open the windows in the common room tower on a breezy day
• not caring about house points
• but scoring so many points for getting the overall highest marks
• being polite to professors in the classroom, but coming up with hilariously true insults about them in the common room at three in the morning
• laughing about how everyone calls you the “boring” “goody two-shoes” house as you gulp down smuggled butter beer and watch old R rated Muggle movies because you figured out how to make muggle technology work in the common room
• muggle-borns and some half-bloods intensely debating which house would win in the Hunger Games
• having deep conversations about religion and philosophy over breakfast
• getting overly competitive in games like risk, scrabble, or monopoly at five in the morning on a school night
• the common room smelling like tea and old books
• not caring what anyone thinks of your house because all that matters is that you’re happy with yourself
• listening to Luna Lovegood ramble on about Nargles and Crumple-Horned Snorkbacks and nodding with a deep expression when you’re all drunk at one in the morning
• cursing at the common room door until it slowly opens when you can’t think of an answer to a riddle
• arguing with the door until it finally lets you in
• “DID SOMEONE MENTION OUTER SPACE?”
• coming up with ingenious ways to rig Quidditch matches but never using them

• having “poetry night” the last Friday of every month, which evolved into “do whatever you want as long as it’s not Cho Chang gushing about Harry Potter” night

• genuinely loving your Ravenclaw friends because never have you met a group of such deep, open-minded, lazy dorks in your life

Hufflepuff- Primrose Everdeen
This one’s easy, prim is about as hufflepuff as they get. Her primary motivations are helping and taking care of people as shown by her desire to become a doctor, she’s incredibly hardworking since she’s put so much effort into her training and work despite being little more than a child, and she’s unwavering in her loyalty to katniss
Gryffindor- Gale Hawthorne
I often say that the main thing that sets a gryffindor apart from a slytherin is that, if faced with the choice to save a loved one versus saving countless others, the gryffindor will choose the many over the few. Gale is prepared to make the hard choices selflessly, something which is often viewed as noble in literature so it’s refreshing to see the not so perfect spin katniss puts on it. Gale is determined to do what he thinks is right no matter the cost, and he has no qualms about putting himself in danger to fight for a better world, even if people like katniss don’t understand how he plays the numbers game
Ravenclaw- Beetee Latier
Yes beetee is smart, I’ll give you that, but to me he’s a ravenclaw because he is, at heart, an inventor. He wants to create and experiment, not necessarily for any particular cause but because he likes to be challenged. He’s also very much an individual. Even in katniss’s world where outlandish fashion is commonplace, there is still a status quo and it’s made clear to us that beetee doesn’t fit that model, much like luna who, in a world filled with the unbelievable and extraordinary, gets mocked for being too much so
Slytherin- Alma Coin
In a world full of politics and murder you might expect there to be an abundance of slytherins but, upon examination, they are surprisingly few. Coin is one of the few characters in the series who shows any real ambition. Most of the characters are, like gale, fighting for a better world for everyone or, like katniss, have been flung into a situation over which they have no control and just want to go home. However coin is determined to make the most of her situation. She’s not an inherently bad person as katniss seems to think, she is however resourceful, ambitious, and cunning. She truly believes that the world she is creating will be better for everyone, not only herself but make no mistake, it will still be her world
There’s a lot of things in this world that are OK and this is not one of them.
pros and cons of ravenclaw house
pros:
- most artistic house
- good at thinking outside the box
- the best story tellers hands down
- they’d be that one kid who manages to solve the problems and help everyone else understand the work because the teacher can’t explain it right
- really humorous in general, sarcastic and satirical is their best
- good mediators for any sort of argument
- great at brainstorming sessions
cons:
- hipster scum
- they’re, overall, the laziest house
- tend to be condescending even if their grades suck because they know all the answers
- most likely to be stoners
- whiny babies
- put everything off until the last minute because they “work best under pressure”
- they get a song stuck in their head and they hum it for the rest of the day until you hate them, the song, and everything else

pros:
- the best damn friend you could ever ask for
- hard working as hell and will get the job done
- open minded and caring, and willing to prove it
- they give people the benefit of the doubt and care first, but if you prove to be a dick they will turn on you so fast
- sass queens
- the best at researching problems and solving them logically
- the most respectful kids you could meet
cons:
- too willing to give second chances
- grudges that last for a thousand years if you cross their friends
- self sacrificing
- big on the “don’t fight hate with hate” movement
- they’re really hard working so if they set their minds to something they might end up running themselves and others to the ground because of their goals
- stubborn and opinionated, even if they’re open minded no one will talk the out of their beliefs
- least likely out of the houses to understand why someone might want to break ties with others

- great at lying to get out of things
- very loyal to their close friends
- kings of debate
- powerful allies because they can and will go big or go home to prove themselves to you
- classy as hell when they want to be
- can dress very very well
- know their way around people and manners

- over emotional and can be stupidly impulsive because of it
- stubborn and big headed
- cruel and cutting personality when they’re not trying
- very stressed
- they’re that one kid in class who calls out the teacher on being wrong and pisses them off so the class has to deal with the annoyed teacher
- try too hard and crack and you’re left to pick up the pieces
- most likely to act on bias, so they’re judgy dicks

pros:
- enthusiastic and willing to help
- they’re the kid who gets stuck holding the door for everyone, but they’re grinning the entire time
- brave enough to be the one to order pizza
- protective of everyone, it doesn’t matter who they are
- loud and powerful
- beautiful and radiant as the freaking sun you will remember them
cons:
- loud as hell
- big on trying to push people far out of their comfort zones
- tend to be conceited
- you know that kid who lectures everyone about how they should be better people and then just sort of turns around and bullies the class jerk? they’re probably a gryffindor
- and they probably think they’re helping the class
