[The performance against Newcastle was] loads better. Tonight that was like watching a Manchester United team. Okay, they didn’t win but they should have won, really. I expect positive play from Manchester United all the time, whether you’re at home or away. Sometimes it’s a little bit easier to do it away from home, actually, when a team comes out at you and really has a go like Newcastle did. Now they have to try and transfer this type of form to Old Trafford.

MAN UNITED WON TODAY THIS IS FANTASTIC

AND ROONEY SCORED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS!
(okay not really but it certainly feels like years)

AND WE WON AGAINST SWANSEA AND SCORED FIRST!
(for the last three games against Swansea, we’ve lost 2-1 when scoring first, so this feels great)

No but seriously, we really improved today. We attacked much more than we have in recent games, and we’ve finally ended a bad streak. 2016 is a clean slate, and we’re now off to a great start. Keep it up boys!

Happy Birthday, Ryan Giggs!

Giggs was signed to United on July 1990 and made his debut in a home match against Everton in 1991. He would go on to have a career with United that would span decades before ultimately retiring in 2014. However, his time with the Red Devils did not come to an end with his retirement. On 19 May 2014 he was named right hand man to new manager, Louis Van Gaal.

Ryan Giggs currently holds the title for most appearances with a total of 963 in 24 years.
